Finished!

Yay! I finished my wash cloth made from Cotlin today! If you don't recall, it's the Lacy Vine pattern from the book "Knitter's Stash". It turned out that when I started, I was doing my yarn overs all wrong (look at the bottom...you can barely see them lace!) but my mom noticed, and so she came to the rescue and helped me out! The rest of it went great, as you can see! I took a picture of the knit side, as you can see, even though the pattern calls that the wrong side. I personally thought that this side looked better. But I can see that you would want to use the purl side when you were actually using the cloth. I am very proud of my wash cloth, because FINALLY I did a very nice lace pattern! Woo hoo! I've always liked lace! I think it's quite pretty.

Well here's about the yarn:

It's very smooth and fun to work with, but I wouldn't exactly recommend it for a sweater or shirt as it does look worn out already the moment you've knit it, so I would only recommend it for those patterns that you want it to look used already.

All in all, I think this was a great project! It was fun, and once you get knitting, extremely fast and surprisingly easy!

Your wash cloth came out great! I did a ton of those when I was practicing for lace. Sorry to hear about your horrible restaurant experience. After waiting tables for 20+ years, teenagers really don't bother me too much. I waited on a group the other night that I had so much fun with and they tipped me sweet. Your tank/shell came out really cute too. What pattern is that? I'm working on one right now from my Knitting calender. The bottom is a lace rib and then solid at the top. I'll post pics soon.

Thanks! They really do help with learning lace! It's really good that there are people like you out there that don't mind the teenagers. I'm glad you had a great time with them! The pattern is the shell from the Scalloped Twin Set in The Pleasures of Knitting, by Ann McCauley. My mom made many changes to it though to suit her better.
